Feeling Grateful for the sunshine
Enjoying being organised and tidy - for once!
Reading The World of Blandings, by P.G Wodehouse. Books like this are such rare finds - books that feel almost like old friends from the very first page, where every paragraph is laced with words and sentences that make you almost shiver with delight at their shear perfection. I'm a complete nerd when it comes to words!
Excited about the imminent birth of kittens in our house. We adopted a stray cat (or maybe I should say that she adopted us!) and she is going to have kittens in about two weeks - I cannot wait!
Giving up sugar for Lent. You know those moments when you have great idea and then realise it's actually slightly unrealistic? That is now. Sort of like when I decided to roller-blade down a very long, very steep, very potholed hill at the age of 11. The moment of realisation in that situation came approximately 0.2 seconds before I catapulted head-over-heals and landed in a rather awkward little heap at the feet of a rather startled passer-by. This time, the moment came as I passed the sweets counter in Sainsburys. I rather felt like throwing myself down on the floor then too, in scenes reminiscent of inexpressible 2-year-old angst.
Singing all the songs from Les Misérables, which I went to see at the weekend. Well, trying to, at least!
Recovering from a near-death experience, known to some as jogging. I don't think anyone should run, under any circumstances, with the exception of being chased by wild beasts of a ferocious nature. I envision a world in which buses and trains wait amiably for passengers to saunter up to them, in which dogs are able to discern the difference between a ball and a moving human being, and in which nobody would feel the need to break into an embarrassed little half-trot every time they stumbled on a crack in the pavement. The need to run would be all but eradicated, and the few people crazy enough to continue doing so on a regular basis would all be fed cake and made to see the error or their ways. The human race would thank me.

:) Such a funny post :) I especially like the comment that those who run should be fed cake! :) Best wishes, Pj x
ReplyDeleteI love PG Wodehouse - but only the books; the tv adaptations always seem to lose the charm of the language somehow
ReplyDeleteFunny this post!
ReplyDeleteI'm just not agree with you for Les miserables that I didn't like at all, too many songs at inappropriate time for me
